The gite is a recently and tastefully restored independent traditional
stone built house with beamed ceiling, tiled floor and stone walls.
It is located in a small hamlet, 3 km from St Julien de Lampon and the
river Dordogne. It is mid-way between the historic market towns
of Sarlat, Souillac and Gourdon.
The hamlet of La Mathevie is a rural retreat of 7 typical
Perigordian stone built houses. Very old, it was occupied by the templars.
The ground floor of the house is very spacious with a 47 m²
dining/living room with a large table, double sofa and armchairs with a TV set and a DVD reader.
A large corner-kitchen is well equipped with oven, fridge/freezer, gas hob, double sink, toaster, expresso coffee machine for Dolce Gusto pods and fitted units. There is a full range of ustensils and crockery. Furniture for babies are available (folding baby cot, a highchair, an umbrella type stroller, a tub)
A French window opens southward to a grassy terrace with garden furniture and loungers.
A barbecue and a ping-pong table are available. Upstairs are two large bedrooms,
one with a double bed, the other with three single beds, a bathroom
with shower, WC and washing machine.
Bed linen with duvets and towels are provided. A Cot is available on request.
The private swimming pool is 8m x 4m. It is secured for children with fence and alarm. It is equiped with garden furniture and loungers.
The swimming pool is private and may be shared only with the owners when they are present. The parking is shady under nut trees.
All around are large fields for games and thousands of acres of countryside and woodlands to explore. With walking paths very near, the area is particularely fitted for walkers and cyclists.

St Julien de Lampon has a bank, a post office, restaurants, bars,
shops as bakery, butcher, grocery, chemist's shop, physician and dentist and a weekly market. You can also find such amenities
as tennis, canoeing, cycle location and a shingle beach on the river Dordogne.
Other amenities such as sport centres, pleasure parks, boating,tennis,
fishing, golf, karting, horse riding, wild life parks and supermarkets are all within a 15 miles radius.
Located in the centre of one of Europe's leading tourist areas, the Black
Perigord overlooks the valleys of the Vézère and the Dordogne,
with their immortally superb landscapes, ever so since Prehistory. places
of interest include caves and dwellings as Lascaux, les Eyzies, Proumessac,
Padirac, historical towns as Sarlat, Souillac, Gourdon, Rocamadour, castles
as Monfort, Beynac, Castelnaud, Fenelon, and many others. In Summer, you
can enjoy cultural holidays with many theaters and music festivals and,
of course, the good food and wine of this part of France.
